My Top 20 Movies of 2000-2009

20.)Wall E -This 2008 Pixar movie showcases the journey of a little robot, who is still adorable nonetheless. Even though it contains little talking, it still manages to illustrate the dependence on technology as well as the point of love. Aww how cute.

19.)Finding Nemo- This 2003 Pixar film also captured audiences with its animated talking fish. Ellen DeGeneres helps deliver a really great performance that makes this movie extremely funny. No matter what age you may be, this movie will still be entertaining.

18.)Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire- This 2005 movie depicts the journey of young wizard Harry Potter. Even though it cut out a lot of plot elements that were in the book, it still provides a good story in a good time frame. It’s packed with action as well as entertainment.

17.)The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King- This final chapter in the trilogy has the best action. Even though it could be cut down in time a smidge bit, the end is quite worth it. I’m also a big fan of Gollum. Can someone say “My precious?”

16.)Live Free or Die Hard- This 2007 action film is great entertainment. It contains action as well as comedy. Even though I watched Moonlighting with Bruce Willis, it’s good to see him in a different role without any hair. I also love Justin Long and him and Bruce Willis are the perfect mix.

15.)Mystic River- This 2003 drama is a great movie to watch. Sean Penn gives a great performance. This movie depicts a sad story, but also is highly suspenseful at the same time. It will make any viewer sit at the edge of their seats.

14.)Minority Report- This 2002 film starring Tom Cruise is a dramatic yet suspenseful work. I was extremely surprised but content by the ending of this movie. Even though I was a little creeped out about Tom Cruise’s character getting his eyes removed in this movie, I still try to look past this moment because the rest of the movie is sheer awesomeness.

13.)Meet the Parents- This 2000 movie is a great form of entertainment. Ben Stiller’s and Robert De Niro’s character’s work well together especially within the boundaries of their love hate relationship. Okay, maybe it’s more of a hate relationship. However, I still can’t get over the fact that little Jinxie the cat can flush the toilet on his own.

12.)The Notebook- This 2004 movie centers around a love story. I can watch this movie a million times and it still never gets old. Fine, maybe I’m a hopeless romantic, but I’m still big fan of Rachel McAdams, and Ryan Gosling no matter what.

11.)He’s Just Not that Into You- This relatively new 2009 romantic comedy is one of my favorites. Something that I really liked about this movie was the fact that so many actresses and actors that I like were part of it- some including Jennifer Anniston, Justin Long, and Drew Barrymore. However, what I liked even more about this movie its ability to ring true especially in today’s society.

10.)How to Lose a Guy in Ten Days- This 2003 movie is great to watch. Kate Hudson is one of my favorite actresses, and I think she does a great job of playing her character. Even though it may not be getting an Oscar anytime soon, it’s still a cute, fun movie that really just is a breath of fresh air.

9.) Mean Girls- This 2004 comedy that stars Lindsay Lohan, is surprisingly one of my favorites. Now I know I may not be the biggest fan of Lindsay Lohan, but this movie is pretty funny and suprisingly accurate. After all Tina Fey helped write the script for it.

8.)27 Dresses - This 2008 film stars two of my favorite actors. Both Katherine Heigl and James Marsden deliver a great performance and have great chemistry with each other. 27 dresses depicts a cute story that shows how even though that guy of your dreams may be getting married to your sister, there’s still always a James Marsden out there.

7.) Wedding Crashers - This 2005 film is extremely funny. Owen Wilson and Vince Vaughn act as if they complete each other. They are the cherry to each other’s vanilla sundae-or something like that. Not to mention the idea of crashing weddings may now become an even more prevalent thought due to this movie.

6.)Mission Impossible 3- When I first saw this 2006 action adventure movie, I must admit that I didn’t think that I would like it. However, it was not boring and was pretty easy to understand and follow. I also loved the part when Tom Cruise pretended to be Phillip Seymour Hoffman. All and all this movie was extremely clever.

5.)The Departed- This 2006 film directed by Martin Scorsese is amazing. Maybe it’s because I like Leonardo DiCaprio, and Matt Damon. However, this movie is really entertaining, and clever as well. Even though the ending was totally not what I expected, it still was a great movie to watch.

4.)Pirates of the Caribbean:The Curse of the Black Pearl- This 2003 movie shows just how great of an actor Johnny Depp is. Even though I may not have been familiar with him before, after watching this first installment, I begged to differ. He’s such a great actor, that he makes this movie well worth watching. Not to mention Orlando Bloom plays his part as well.

3.)Spider Man 3- This 2007 movie starring Toby Maguire is filled with its fair share of action. I loved the special effects especially the part with the diamond ring falling through the air. I can do without Kirsten Dunst, I love James Franco, and maybe there was too much storyline going on at once but I still will actually watch this movie when its on.

2.)Iron Man-All I can say is that this 2008 action movie made me become a huge fan of Robert Downey Jr.. This movie is filled with action as well as comedy. I really never thought that I would have liked this movie, because I thought that it would be boring, but it was the total opposite of what I expected which made me like it even more.

1.)High School Musical- JUST KIDDING!!!!!

1.)The Dark Knight- I don’t think it’s really any surprise that this 2008 movie is at the top of the list. Even though I strongly dislike Christian Bale’s hoarse and scratchy voice as Batman, in this movie I extremely like Heath Ledger’s performance as the Joker. I thought that this movie was filled with action, which made it that much more entertaining to watch. I would really recommend it to anyone to see.

Episode 23: Camille

So it’s the last episode of Moonlighting and I must say that the theme song has never grown on me. Maybe it’s because I listened to it only one time. (Well kind of one time – thank goodness for fast forwarding.) I mean the lyrics really depict Maddie’s and Addison’s journey at the Blue Moon Detective Agency but I’m not really a big fan of the song itself.

I mean what would you think of listening to lyrics like:

“There is the sun and moon. They sing their own sweet tune. Watch them when dawn is due. Sharing one space”

(Fine maybe they’re not so bad.)

After all these lyrics can show how Maddie and Addison are indeed two strangers, completely opposite from each other yet they still share the experience of working at the Blue Moon Detective Agency together. However, put these lyrics into a jazzy song and I would say that I’m going to have to pass.

In this episode entitled “Camille,” there were actually two well-known guest stars present. Both Whoopi Goldberg and Judd Nelson (that guy from The Breakfast Club) play big parts in this episode.

Whoopi Goldberg actually plays a con artist named Camille who takes on some very interesting disguises. (She even has one green and one blue eye.) It’s kind of weird though to see Whoopi Goldberg act so seriously. I miss her funny side.

On the other hand, the episode as a whole was extremely funny. (Not to mention that it had a really catchy song that kept on playing in the background, something about a devil with a blue dress on.)

In this episode I really liked the part when Maddie and Camille come to work at the Blue Moon Detective Agency in the same outfit. (Oh no you didn’t Camille.) It turns out that Camille even has her hair straightened and she even kind of does look like Maddie in a way.

Another part of this episode that I liked was when Agnes was doing her normal rhyme schemes over the phone and someone interrupted her. She got so mad, but she still was so adorable with her squeaky voice and all. I mean how can someone interrupt her cute little rhyme couplets, after all they are just so catchy. (Okay maybe not so much, but she tries.)

This episode even had a twist at the end of it. When Maddie and Addison are chasing after Camille and Judd Nelson’s character, they wind up running through the studio as well as the sets. Also, instead of finding out what exactly happens to Camille, the producers of the show come in and take all of the props in the scene away. This could have even been a little odd to see when it first aired especially because it was different from just ending an episode in a “normal” way. In addition it was pretty funny when Agnes was on her way home and Addison says “Wait a minute you’re in this scene.” I thought this was a cute part of the episode as well.

This season finale most definitely did not tie up Maddie and Addison’s love-hate relationship, which is completely understandable. It pretty much left it up in the air for next season. This episode ends with Maddie and Addison wanting to talk to each other about something – now I’m thinking it’s about how they secretly like each other. However, both are too stubborn to admit it right now, and they say that whatever they wanted to say can wait until next season. (Not cool.)

This was a really good way however to keep the audience guessing. There are probably a lot of people who were dying to see Maddie and Addison finally in a relationship with each other. At first this is what I thought I would want to see as well but I’m not too sure about that now. I mean I would want to see if their relationship would actually work out but for me I always like the chase better. Once they’re actually in a relationship what more will make a viewer want to tune in every week? (This was even considered to be a negative aspect by some critics as well http://www.lycos.com/info/moonlighting.html.)

Overall Moonlighting for me was a really good show and I’m glad that I watched it. At first I was apprehensive about picking it because I never even heard of it before. However, going into this show blind was actually better because it made it possible to have a reaction to the show that was not influenced by what anyone else thought. I was pleasantly surprised because this show was so different from what I thought it was going to be about. I had the DVDs just lying around in my house. I never touched them. However, I now have a broken DVD box, as well as a new show that I like.

This episode was really good and I definitely would recommend it to anyone to watch. Other must see episodes include “Brother, Can You Spare a Blonde”, “The Lady in the Iron Mask.”, and so many more that were just extremely funny. (I do warn against watching “The Dream Sequence Always Rings Twice” though.)

However, the episodes that I did like totally compensated for the couple of episodes that I wasn’t a big fan of. Maybe it was challenging to get through some of the predictable plots, or repetitive nature of the episodes at times, but the moments between Maddie and Addison were priceless if I must say so myself.

So the question is did I like Moonlighting?

All I can say is, and I quote Addison “Do bears bear? Do bees bee?

5 out of 5 stars.

This episode centers around a man named Roger Clemens ( and not the baseball player if that’s what you are thinking). It turns out that this man has hired someone who will kill him because he is very depressed that his wife died. If this isn’t creepy enough try listening to the creepy music that is playing in the background of the episode. All I can say is that it’s not too great of an idea to watch this episode late at night in the dark.

Maddie and Addison wind up getting involved in this mans’ life when one day this man sees his supposedly dead wife walking the streets just like any other normal pedestrian. Can someone say that he sees dead people too.

However it turns out that this man really isn’t hallucinating, and his wife really happens to be alive. Now the question is why would this woman even want to fake her own death?

Something that I really enjoyed in this episode was after Addison asks Maddie a question pertaining to this mysterious man, he then looks at the audience and asks us the same question. I think this is a clever idea because it includes the audience in a different way then us actually being in the episode itself. It also feels as if the characters in the show are talking to an audience member directly.

One of my favorite parts of this episode included the chase scene at the end. When Addison finally catches up to the bad guy they both start to fight each other. Addison picks up a blue mop, while the bad guy picks up a red broom. Then in the background the music from Star Wars starts to play and it really looks as if they are fighting each other with light sabers. Then, in the next scene, when Addison and the bad guy begin to chase after each other again, the bad guy picks up an ax and then the music from Psycho starts to play in the background. I thought that this was a very clever part in the episode, especially because it was so different. I also liked the part in this episode when Addison turns on a hose and winds up squirting himself and Maddie in the face. Of course Maddie isn’t too pleased by this. (Oops, it really wasn’t Addison’s fault, okay technically it was.)

All in all I thought that this episode was very good. It’s interesting how a majority of the episodes in this season center around the idea of someone who hires a murderer or wants to die themselves. This type of case was prevalent in many episodes, so there wasn’t too much variety in the different crimes that took place in some cases. However, in some episodes no crime really took place at all. Again this really isn’t a negative aspect, it just shows that the focus of each episode is rather on the different comedic moments that will make a viewer come back for more. 4 out of 5 stars.

Episode 21: Sleep Talkin’ Guy

So it’s Maddie and Addison’s one year anniversary of being at the Blue Moon Detective Agency. All I can say is that I’m surprised that Maddie and Addison could stand each other for so long. Even though they made it through their fair share of fights, physical, as well as verbal, they still managed to hang in there.

It’s funny when Addison is talking to Maddie about giving him a raise. Of course Maddie makes sure to remind him that he’s just not a very good detective and that he has never actually solved a case. ( Well technically Addison has solved cases – numerous cases. Now whether he solved these cases out of luck, or sheer genius can be debatable. Okay, Okay, Addison and genius should most definitely not go together in the same sentence. I guess what can you expect from a guy who spins around in a chair for fun -but he still is lovable nonetheless.)

However in this episode Addison actually does solve a case. Well actually he solves several big cases, and it’s not by luck, or is it?

One of my favorite parts in this episode was when Maddie was baffled at the fact that Addison was solving all of these cases on his own. Of course she
was surprised that he actually could solve a case not by luck, so she demanded some answers. To this Addison responds ”Delaware , all of the above, and 90 degrees .” He gave her answers just not the ones that she was looking for. I thought that this part was funny. (By the way, who here thinks that Maddie is just a wee bit jealous of Addison’s success with these cases?)

This was one of the first episodes that took place over the course of several weeks instead of over the course of just one or several days. This made the episode seem more authentic especially because it’s not too believable if several big cases would be solved in a matter of a day or two.

I also thought that it was pretty ironic that when Addison gets a lot of publicity due to all of the cases that he is solving someone calls him and asks him if he wants to star in a detective show. Addison responds that people hate detective shows. However, one of the reasons that Moonlighting wasn’t just like any other detective show out there was due to the banter between Maddie and Addison that was hardly found in any other show. Also the fact that Maddie was Addison’s boss, could show that she was pretty much his superior at times. Even though Addison was able to convince her to do things his way through his charming ability, this possibly could have been a change as well to see a woman in this role, especially in the 80′s when this show was created. In Moonlighting the cases that are solved are really not the main priority of the show but instead the show revolves around Maddie, Addison, and all the sexual tension and such that comes along with this inevitable love-hate relationship. This aspect of the show possibly would make people want to tune in, especially because they would want to see how the relationship between Maddie and Addison would play out.
http://www.dvdtimes.co.uk/content.php?contentid=57402

Another part that I enjoyed in this episode was when Maddie finally finds out that Addison doesn’t have a gift of naturally solving cases on his own but he is instead using an alternative way to get his information. (And no I will not say what his alternate way was.) When Maddie finds out what Addison actually is doing, she winds up punching him in the face. (You go Maddie!) Even though this could have been considered as a tad bit extreme, it definitely fit into the episode because the last scene involved a bar fight.

I really enjoyed this episode because it focused on Addison. Addison really is my favorite character especially due to his personality. I really enjoy his immature nature and the fact that he doesn’t take too many things seriously. This is very relatable especially because he is so goofy at times. This episode was funny and clever just like most of the episodes that I have previously watched. I would definitely recommend this episode to anyone because it will definitely not be a disappointment at all. 4.5 out of 5 stars

Episode 20: Witness for the Execution

So a man named Mr. Everett wants to be murdered. My question is why? Well it turns out that Mr. Everett is 90 years old and he thinks that he’s lived long enough. (I mean I wouldn’t be complaining either if I lived to be that age.)

However, Mr. Everett also mentions how machines are interfering with his life because they are making him live longer than he should. Hmmm could this be a message to the audience. I seem to think so. Maybe it pertains to the extent that the role of science plays in our everyday lives, and how some people may disagree over whether this is a good thing or not. The serious nature of this part of the episode is contrary to the lighter tone that most episodes of Moonlighting seem to have. However, I still think that it’s an effective way to reach out to the audience, especially when considering the great effect that the media can even have on an individual.

So, Mr. Everett wants to die and he wants Maddie and Addison to be witnesses to his murder. (Creepy old man said what?) Of course Addison wants to help this man. (Now either Addison genuinely feels sorry for this old man, and wants to help him or he’s just interested in the amount of money that this man will be giving him if he does help him. Or, who knows maybe it’s a little bit of both.)

However, Maddie wishes to not be a part of this at all. Sorry Addison but I’m going to have to agree with Maddie on this one. After all if Maddie and Addison help out this man they are pretty much going to be accomplices to this murder, and that can’t be a good thing in the least bit.

Addison refuses to listen to Maddie (like always) and he kind of gets himself into a little problem. (Well maybe he gets himself into a big problem- a really big problem.) When Addison goes to help Mr. Everett, the police get the impression that Addison actually killed Mr. Everett himself. Uh oh Addison I would say you have some explaining to do.

Something that I didn’t like about this episode was how far-fetched it really was. I feel as if the plot of this episode could have been tied together more successfully. When Addison goes to help Mr.Everett, it’s pretty obvious that Mr. Everett is dead already. (I mean to a viewer it didn’t even seem as if he was breathing.) However, Addison really begins to think that he actually killed Mr. Everett by accident.

Also it’s very bizarre when it is discovered that Mr. Everett actually kills himself on his own. I mean Mr. Everett couldn’t even get up to walk let alone get up to actually pull the plug to the machine that he was attached to.

I also disliked the fact that Addison was being portrayed as the bad guy. I mean, I really didn’t think that Addison was going to go to jail or anything. After all he is one of the main characters on the show. I guess this part of the episode was kind of pointless especially because it was predictable that Addison was going to be proven innocent.

Now that all the negative aspects of this episode are taken care of, a positive aspect of this episode (and yes there really was one), was when Maddie and Addison finally kiss each other. (Woot, Woot.) It was funny that after they kissed each other they acted like nothing happened at all. Also it was funny when Maddie has to bring up the fact that Addison smells awful when she kisses him. Of course you would say that Maddie, of course.

However, all in all, this episode was pretty average. I sadly wasn’t a big fan of the concept of the old man wanting to kill himself. Also it was really unclear of what actually happened to Addison and how the police realized that he wasn’t the bad guy after all. It left a great deal of assuming up to the viewer. I know that the episodes really focus on Addison and Maddie but it’s still nice to have a plot that makes sense from time to time. 2 out of 5 stars.

Episode 19: Every Daughter’s Father Is a Virgin

So this episode starts out with Maddie and Addison receiving letters from their fans. All of the letters pretty much question when Maddie and Addison are actually going to kiss each other. (Good to know that I’m not the only one who thinks that this should happen already.)

Anyway in this episode we get to meet Maddie’s parents. Of course it’s not just a normal everyday visit but something has to go wrong. Maddie’s mom thinks that her husband is cheating on her. Oh my can
someone say zoinkies?

One of my favorite parts of this episode was when Addison goes to follow Maddie’s dad. Addison is basically being a spy and is on a mission to see if Maddie’s dad is cheating on his wife.

It turns out that Addison is actually a really good spy. (Well kinda sorta maybe.) I love the part when Addison calls Maddie’s dad on the phone and pretends that he is a hotel worker in order to get the room number that Maddie’s dad is staying in. I must say how clever of you Addison. This is something that Addison can always be counted on: being clever. He always is able to think of a way (crazy or not) to solve a problem. Most of the time Maddie won’t agree with him, but what she doesn’t know can’t hurt her.

One of the parts of this episode that I really didn’t like was when Maddie says that she never has lied. (I mean come on Maddie, you’re lying by saying that you’ve never lied. After all you lie every day when you say that you hate Addison because I know deep deep deep deep down inside of your heart you secretly don’t hate him at all.)

It’s funny though when Addison, Maddie, and Maddie’s parents go out to dinner with each other. Maddie and Addison know that her dad is cheating on her
mom. (Let’s jut say that dinner was a tad bit awkward.)

I also love how Addison was so eager to help Maddie with her problem regarding her family. Even though Addison is goofy and funny, he still has a sensitive and caring side as well. He’s even more caring than Maddie can be at times. After all when Addison wanted to talk to Maddie and try and help her out, she didn’t even want to talk to him about it anymore. They are really such drastic opposites from each other in pretty much every way imaginable.

I enjoyed this episode a great deal. All the episodes that I have watched are funny in one way or another even if some are more entertaining than others. Although I must say again that I do forget that Maddie and Addison are actually detectives at times. I mean most cases that they do solve happen to be as a result of luck. However, I mostly focus on their relationship with each other which is probably what the creators of this show intended to do. It seems like Maddie and Addison are pretty consistent in the way that they act. Addison is always immature; Maddie is more classy and stringent. However as the episodes go on I think Maddie and Addison have grown on each other and in the process they have grown on me as well.

Abra Kadabra!

Hocus Pocus!

Wingardium Leviosa! ( oh wait that’s from Harry Potter not from Moonlighting)

If you couldnt guess this episode of Moonlighting centers around magic. Now who doesn’t like magic? Well maybe you won’t be a big fan of magic, if the magic trick ends up failing. Unfortunately, this winds up happening in this episode.

At the beginning of the episode The Great Kandinsky submerges himself in ”the tank of peril”. (It doesn’t really look like “the tank of peril” to me. After all it’s just a tank filled with water, but I can deal with this.) It is here in “the tank of peril” (I just like writing “the tank of peril”) that this magician will try to escape from chains in order to avoid drowning.

However, The Great Kandinsky doesn’t escape, and he dies. What baffles me is the fact that the people surrounding The Great Kandinsky wait until after he stops moving in “the tank of peril” to bust out the ax in order to break the tank that he’s in. Sorry guys but I think you’re a little too late. (You don’t even get a A for effort.)

However, it turns out that The Great Kandinsky wanted to die. (Why!?) Oh, he only wanted to die so he could magically come back to life in order to murder his wife. This isn’t getting a tad bit complex at all. This sounds like a job for Maddie and Addison.

I thought that it was a clever concept that The Great Kandinsky really didn’t die and was seeking revenge on his wife. This wasn’t predictable at all because at first I suspected that someone killed The Great Kandinsky on purpose, when instead he was the one tricking everyone else.

One of my favorite parts of this episode was when Addison was singing “Happy Birthday” to Maddie. However, while he was singing Maddie didn’t look too happy. Now I thought it was because it wasnt her birthday. However, it really was Maddie’s birthday she just didn’t want to celebrate it. Too bad that didn’t stop Addison from singing.

Another part of this episode that I liked was when Addison and Maddie get this case involving the dead magician, Addison is confused as to why Maddie actually wants to take the case. This is because Maddie always has a problem with the cases that Addison wants to try and solve. I thought that this was a good idea to make Addison mention this because it was something that I was thinking all along. It seemed like in every episode Maddie complained about the lack of clients as well as the cases that Addison wanted to take. This was a good way to break the repetitiveness of each episodes’ format in an almost ironic way.

This episode even had a serious tone to at the end. (Shocker, right?) Maddie and Addison discuss their beliefs about God, and Maddie says how she does not believe in anything. This connected with their case pertaining to magic. This could have even sent a message out to some people who were watching, by showing that sometimes you don’t need to see something in order to believe in it. Sometimes even just by seeing something it could be misleading or an illusion, just like in magic. (Maybe it’s a stretch, but yes I actually got a message out of this episode of Moonlighting.)

I thought that this episode was really good. It was a good mix of cleverness, entertainment, comedy and it even had a message as well. I liked seeing Addison’s and Maddie’s serious side when they actually had a legitimate conversation and didn’t argue with one another. However I also thought it was cute when they actually stopped their bickering and fell asleep next to each other on the floor. All in all it was a rather good episode, and just to say it one last time, I enjoyed “the tank of peril.” Dun Dun Dun. 5 out of 5 stars

Episode 17: North by North Dipesto

Agnes Agnes Agnes, you finally get a whole episode dedicated to yourself. Even though I wanted Agnes to have a larger role in “Moonlighting”, I must say that I miss Addison and Maddie and all of the bickering that inevitably comes with their love-hate relationship.

I finally realized that Addison acts just like a child at times. I’m not complaining though, I think it’s actually really funny. One of my favorite parts of this episode was when Addison was complaining about going to a banquet. He kept whining and tried to make Maddie go to this banquet by herself. Even though Addison was complaining he still did so in such a cute manner, and of course in the end Addison is successful (like always). He doesn’t go to the banquet and neither does Maddie. They wind up sending Agnes, but not before they give her a little makeover. Of course this would be Maddie’s forte. After all she is the one who wears diamonds and jewelry and fancy dresses to work. I mean you try Addison, with your nifty little suits, but you can’t beat diamonds. It’s actually funny how Maddie’s attitude is reflected in her clothes especially because her attitude is so classy just like what she wears. However, I can’t say the same for Addison. Addison may wear nice put together outfits, but his personality of being funny and goofy is so opposite of being put together.

This episode did have some funny parts to it especially when Agnes attempts to walk in high heels and let’s say she isn’t too successful. However this episode had some weird moments to it as well. (And when I say weird I mean not too believable.) For example Agnes meets a mysterious man while she is in the process of being chased by two guys. This isn’t so bad except for the fact that Agnes actually goes into this mysterious mans’ house willingly. Now I know that Agnes isn’t the sharpest tool in the shed but come on now Agnes didn’t your mom ever teach you not to talk to strangers?

Agnes’ cuteness can kind of make up for her silliness. (I mean let’s face it Agnes is pretty much distraught ninety-nine percent of the time.) She even looks like a lost puppy in the woods when she is hiding from these men who are chasing her.

Something that I have noticed is that the focus of each episode is put more on the comedic moments of the show rather than on the actual validity of the cases. Instead of being like other detective shows that may be more complex to follow (Murder She Wrote comes to my mind), Moonlighting focuses more on Addison’s and Maddie’s relationship. (I mean sometimes I even forget that Maddie and Addison are detectives because they are so non professional with the way that they act toward one another.)

This episode was a good change because it focused pretty much all on Agnes and her quirkiness. I liked that at the end when Maddie and Addison are talking Maddie says to the audience that they need bigger parts for next week. This was something known as breaking the “fourth wall” where the actors actually talk to the audience. (http://www.auter.tv/info/publications/articles/FourthWall.pdf)

It turns out that Moonlighting was one of the first scripted shows to incorporate this concept into their series. I think that it’s a good idea to do this because it includes the audience more in an episode by talking directly to us in a different way. All in all this episode was good. It was definitely entertaining and had its funny moments. Even though like I said some moments were a little weird, I still enjoyed seeing Agnes covered in soap bubbles when she was hiding from the bad guys. 4 out of 5 stars.

PS. I also would have to agree with Maddie – give Addison a bigger part in next weeks episode. Please and thank you!

Episode 16: The Bride of Tupperman

Speed Dating anyone? What about eharmony.com? If only Mr. Tupperman could make use of these sites because he seems to have mistaken Blue Moon Detective Agency for a dating service agency.

Mr. Tupperman wants Maddie and Addison to find him a girl who meets the specific requirements that he has. Of course Maddie has a classy clean-cut girl in mind who is smart, and Addison is just concerned about this girls looks.

So, Addison and Maddie split up, and will find two different girls for Mr. Tupperman to choose from. (Im rooting for Addison.)

One of my favorite parts of this episode was when Addison was in the process of finding a girl he was slapped, pushed and someone even poured a drink on his head. However, even though all of this happened to him he still refused to give up.

I also enjoyed the part when Addison asks Maddie for one of her shoes. He takes her shoe and then throws it at a window this way him and Maddie can break into Mr. Tupperman’s house. Maddie had no clue that he was about to do this which made this part even better.

However, something that I didn’t like about this episode was how it was tied together. It’s kind of far-fetched to think that Mr. Tupperman would fall in love and marry the girl who Maddie found all in one day. It would have been more believable perhaps if we saw Mr. Tupperman interact with the girls that Maddie and Addison found, but this was never revealed.

In addition, Maddie and Addison go in a hospital and are chasing Mr. Tupperman. In the process Addison jumps in a room, and the mattress that he lands on is clearly visible. Again just like one of the previous episodes, I found it funny how I was able to see a part of the scene that is usually not shown these days. Usually a person doesn’t see the mattress that a stunt man will jump on. It’s normally concealed in a better way.

So all in all this episode was funny, but as of lately I haven’t watched an episode that was extremely amazing or extremely funny. This episode was good, but I wish that there was more diversity in each episode. Each episode is very similar in how it’s set up. Although I didn’t mind this so much at the beginning, after watching numerous episodes consecutively it starts to get too repetitive. However, this episode was still a good form of entertainment. 4 out of 5 stars.

Episode 15: Twas the Episode Before Christmas

This episode involved the murder of a woman named Mary’s husband. While her husband was being murdered, Mary decides to run out of her house along with her baby. Too bad in the process Mary leaves her baby in Agnes’ house. Oh boy.

However, I liked how this episode incorporated more of Agnes, the secretary of the Blue Moon Detective Agency. Instead of just incorporating Maddie and Addison, it was a good change to make Agnes have a bigger part in an episode.

I thought it was really cute at the beginning of the episode when Agnes was singing Santa Claus is Coming to Town, while wearing a red nightgown, a Santa hat and slippers. Then of course to her surprise she is welcomed by a baby in her apartment.

Another surprise in this episode was that the Blue Moon Detective Agency was actually busy. It’s not busy with clients though, but it is busy due to a Santa’s hotline that Addison is in charge of. Of course Maddie hates the idea. It seems like Maddie hates everything that Addison does. By now you would think she would be used to Addison’s antics, but sometimes it seems as if she just disagrees with him in order to just disagree with him.

My favorite part of this episode was when Addison was mimicking Maddie’s actions until finally she screams out of anger and says she hates him. David and Maddie definitely have a love hate relationship.

I also think it’s funny that Addison says that Maddie would be a good mother. I really doubt this especially if Maddie had a son who acts just like Addison.

This episode was funny especially because Addison and Maddie are so different from each other. However, being that the show solely centers around both of these characters, it does get repetitive after a while. I felt at the beginning of the season I was more intrigued by their love hate relationship and now it’s becoming a routine which gets kind of monotonous after a while. I still am enjoying watching this show but I feel as if it’s limited up to a certain extent. Shows today have numerous plots, and numerous things going on that make a person what to see how the next episode will turn out because of this continuous plot that is going on. However, with this show there is no continuous element. Each episode is its own entity and has its own storyline. It’s not a completely negative aspect but it may be more repetitive as a result because each episode just revolves around Maddie and Addison’s relationship.

This episode however was clever, and was tied together in a better way than the previous episode. It was definitely a good mix of comedy as well as entertainment. 4 out of 5 stars.
